How to choose the right chandelierChoosing the right lighting for your room is often a challenge. On the one hand, we have to choose a lamp that we like and that fits into the decor. On the other hand, the number of light points must be chosen so that there is neither too much nor too little light. While too much light can be reduced by using, for example, a dimmer or a light bulb with less power, a chandelier with too few arms can be a problem that can only be solved by replacing it with a larger one. What chandelier should be chosen for the living room, dining room or bedroom? When facing the choice of a lamp, remember to choose its size (number of bulbs and diameter) according to the height and area of the room it will illuminate. In a living room of 20-25 square meters we should hang a chandelier with not less than six bulbs and a diameter of at least 60-65 cm. In the same room, the chandelier or plafond that will be hanging above the table may already have a larger diameter (65 - 75 cm) and the light points may even be 10 - 12. We always like to eat in well-lit rooms. What chandelier should be chosen for a large living room or dining room?In a large living room, with an area of 40-50 square meters and a height of about 3 meters, the minimum chandelier diameter is 75-85 cm and at least 12 light bulbs or more. In case the lamp will be hanging above the dining table, we can choose 16 bulbs and a diameter of up to 90 cm. We can hang the chandelier above the table at a height of 170-180 cm. |
